🔬 Drying ≠ Complete polymerization
Many people think that the glue is "dry" as soon as it seems set. This is partially true: approximately 80% of the polymerization is reached at the moment of drying. But the chemical reaction continues! It takes up to 24 hours for complete curing. Hence the importance of adapting post-application care to this reality.
💧 Humidity, the ignored key factor
Want your glue to hold better? Watch the humidity! The ideal level is between 50 and 60%. Some glues are suitable for extreme conditions (very low or very high humidity), but they require professional adjustment. If your installations aren't holding, the problem may not be the glue... but the ambient air.
📉 Actual retention: 3 to 4 weeks… and that’s already excellent!
Claims of 6 weeks of hold are exaggerated, except in perfect (and extremely rare) conditions. In reality, a good application in a good environment, with a quality adhesive, offers 3 to 4 weeks of retention. And that's already an excellent result.
🧊 To refrigerate or not?
You can store your glue in the refrigerator, but bring it to room temperature before use. The best thing to do: store it at around 21°C, away from light. And avoid temperature fluctuations, which affect the product's stability.
💧 Should I change the drop every 30 minutes?
Not necessarily. It all depends on your work environment. In a hair salon, for example, chemical fumes can damage the glue. Otherwise, as long as there's no excessive humidity, a drop can remain effective much longer.
