Take care of yourself! That’s what we’re told, but do we really? Here are some ideas on taking the time to slow down. It’s the simple little things that slow down time when it’s going too fast.
1. Pamper Yourself
Because taking care of your body is healthy and feels good. Apply a facial mask, leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse well. The refreshing effect purifies body and mind. Why not apply your facial mask while soaking in the tub? That brings us to idea number.
2. Unwind by soaking in a hot tub
But no too hot, though. Make sure the water is just warm enough to open your pores and relax your muscles. Rest your head on a comfortable cushion and soak in the tub with a glass of wine.
3. Sip some soothing chamomile tea
What better way to spend an evening than to start it with a soothing calm-momile herbal tea (now there’s a great pun!)? Go for a herbal tea rather than regular tea to avoid the stimulating effect of caffeine.
Surround yourself with as many cushions as possible, lounge like a pasha and watch an episode or three of your favourite show. Pick something light, easy and fun.
5. Take ten minutes in the morning
It’s as if we fall into the same old routine of subway-work-sleep when the clock radio goes off (after we’ve hit snooze three times). Take ten minutes in the morning to look at yourself in the mirror and pamper your skin. It doesn’t take much: cool water, a little jar of cream and enough mascara to look like you’ve given yourself some “me” time. Don’t make it a duty, but do enjoy it.
