Ingrid Gagné et Jean-Jacques Benguigui

Our story begins more than 15 years ago: Ingrid, immersed in the field of cosmetics at a young age, dreams like all women of intense, glamourous look from the moment she wakes up.
The ideal solution? Eyelash extensions, a technique previously reserved for the stars, are just beginning to become more widely available. So she’s off to the United States to try this new service that’s both trendy and growing!

The result: eyelashes that are too long, too heavy, not adapted to the morphology of the face and, to top it all off: itchy eyes.
It is after this bad experience, and in order not to make other women live the same story, that Misencil begins in Quebec.
Ingrid partners with her husband, Jean-Jacques Benguigui, who has just arrived from France, a visionary entrepreneur with extensive experience in international business.  Being an optician by training, Mr. Benguigui will bring his valuable knowledge in health and safety, which will be an integral part of the brand’s DNA.

The flame that drives our founders is, without hesitation, research and development, which pushes them to improve day after day to celebrate the beauty of all. Women and men are welcome at Misencil because we support cultural and gender diversity.  Like research, teaching is at the heart of their priorities with an academy led by exceptional educators who always have a passion for passing on their knowledge.

Today, eager to make a real difference for the planet, Misencil is going green. The objective is to use packaging made of 100% recyclable or reusable materials.  In addition, reformulating the entire line of products with ingredients of natural origin, while continuing to offer you ultra-safe products.

In 2012, we have met an extraordinary woman that deeply moved us. We were immediately consumed by her art, her talent, her way of communicating, and her story. Her name is Natalie Soul.

Misencil has chosen her highly emotionally-charged works of art to represent the brand. The femininity expressed in Natalie’s art perfectly illustrates our philosophy: the power of all women to seduce with their eyes and their inner beauty.

Beauty experts as well as 2 famous Quebec personalities known for their sense of style (Virginie Coosa and Bianca Gervais) were part of the jury.
