Discover the woman entrepreneur at the origin of the brand

8 March 2021

How long have you been an entrepreneur?

It was at 27 years old that my life as a woman entrepreneur took off. It all started in the basement of our home. I was far from suspecting the sacrifices that paved the way for Misencil’s success, but Jean-Jacques and I had a clear vision of what we wanted to accomplish. Beginning with the distribution of permanent makeup equipment, we continued with the creation of the Misencil brand in 2006, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year!

What drives you the most in your profession?

Listening to women, understanding what they want and offering it to them with the highest level of quality and safety possible, that’s what drives me. And it is this commitment that has led me to get involved with several organizations that provide different services to women such as the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the Eye Disease Foundation, Pink October and the Maman Dion Foundation.

What are you most proud of?

I am very proud as a woman entrepreneur that Misencil was the very first brand to market a complete aftercare line compatible with eyelash extensions.  With more than 20,000 points of sale worldwide, Misencil has become an internationally recognized brand. The very fact that the world’s largest cosmetics company uses our eyelashes to test its mascaras is the best proof of this!

Women and the job market

I am touched by what we have been able to do for women with Misencil. By creating a new profession, new vocations, we have opened a door for thousands of women who have been able to acquire new skills, become emancipated and start their own businesses. It is an extremely rewarding way to bring my values of humanity, empathy and femininity to life.

Women and Women’s Management

I believe that women should not be afraid to give life to their ideas, to dare and to take their place as entrepreneurs. I am convinced that women’s management offers an original and mobilizing perspective. Creation and ambition are feminine names! Let’s never forget it!

Today and every day, we celebrate our incredible community of strong, smart and confident women who inspire and challenge us each day, as well as our ambitious team that lays the foundation of our company.

We are proud to say that 88% of our employees are women, who not only bring their skills and creativity to the table each day to grow and evolve our brand, but also empower each other to be the best they can be.

Happy International Women’s Day!
